The event was hosted by KROQ personality Stryker, who led a short but sweet Q&A session between the band and the lucky devotees who got access to the appearance. Angels & Airwaves, led by Blink-182′s Tom DeLonge, breezed through a five-song set, including “Anxiety,” “Everything’s Magic,” “Hallucinations,” “Surrender” and “Adventure,” the latter of which DeLonge admitted was “probably” his favorite song.
Hardcore fans snapped photos, took video with their phones and sang along (some even cried along) just feet away from the band. It was in such close quarters that DeLonge was even able to reach out and share some of the gummy snacks he was smacking on with those in the front row.
The Red Bull Sound Space is located inside KROQ’s headquarters and officially launched last October with a performance from Coldplay. The station plans on hosting a series of these intimate live gigs from big-name acts throughout the year, broadcasting them live on its website.
