Slideshow: Kid Jay and DJ G-Roy at Silk the Club at Pechanga

Kid Jay kicked off Labor Day Weekend at Silk the Club at Pechanga on Friday, Aug. 31 and DJ Icy Ice kept the party going on through Saturday, Sept. 1.

Slideshow: Punk super group Implants storm Anaheim’s Juke Joint

Slideshow: Local bands come together for Steve Guzman at Detroit Bar

Local artists including Honeypie, the New Limb, the Devious Means, the Ultimate Bearhug (pictured above), Stacy Clark, Jameson and more came together for a benefit for Steve Guzman on Thursday night at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa.

Guzman, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005, suffered a seizure in May which caused him to total his vehicle on the freeway. Without medical insurance the bills totaled just over $10,000. Honeypie vocalist Trisha Smith organized the benefit since Guzman has done so much in community with his non-profit Turkey and Friends. Music News: Pacific Festival moves to Newport Dunes

The annual Pacific Festival has moved to a new home at the Newport Dunes Resort & Marina in Newport Beach. The day-long event will kick-off at Noon on Sunday, Sept. 2.

The line-up is stellar, though no where near as strong as it was last year which saw performances by Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, Ghostland Observatory, the Growlers, Calvin Harris, Cut Copy, !!! and Black Lips (the full line-up can be found here).

This years highlights include: Mayer Hawthorne, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Le Blorr, Snakebit Drifters and DJ sets by Yacht, Tropicool, Kedd Cook, Cassette and more.

Tickets are $55-$125 and available here. 18-and-up only. The Pacific Festival will donate $1 for every ticket sold to the Surfrider Foundation.
