Slide Show: Monster Energy AMA Supercross takes over Angel Stadium

January 9th, 2012, 6:56 pm by

Angel Stadium in Anaheim was packed Saturday night as the Monster AMA Supercross kicked-off it’s 2012 series.  A sold-out crowd was on hand to check out the scene, get autographs from the hottie promo models and watch Ryan Villopoto continue his hot streak from 2011 with a dominating victory in the main event.

Click here to see a full photo slide show from the event.

Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey finished second and third respectively but were over 12 seconds behind Villopoto. Crowd favorite James Stewart won his heat race, but struggled in the main and finished seventh overall. Cole Seely of Murietta, California, took home the trophy in the 250cc AMA Supercross Lites West race.

AMA Supercross returns to Anaheim Stadium on Saturday,  Feb. 4.

Welcome to the Encore blog

December 22nd, 2011, 1:12 pm by

Welcome to my nightmare, er, Encore blog! I’m Kelli Skye Fadroski and I’ll be your captain (there’s a picture of me to the right at the OC Music Awards last year and, yes, that’s a Shirley Temple I’m drinking). This blog is dedicated to local music and nightlife. Myself and a merry crew of OrangeCounty.com cast members will be guiding you through it all.

Whether it’s a themed night out with friends at a local bar or an evening of music courtesy of one of Orange County’s hundreds of established or up-and-coming artists, we’ll be there snapping pictures, slapping high fives and doing shots (of water, of course) only to post the outcome of these outings on the Encore blog.

We look forward to torturing entertaining you and hope you’ll be back to visit us often.

Follow us on Twitter at @encore_oc and on Facebook here.

About Me: People think that all I do is go to concerts and party. They’re right – sort of. I’ve been afforded the opportunity for over a dozen years now to go to and review massive concerts, interview legendary musicians and stand-up comedians and cover the Orange County local music scene.

I’ve interviewed George Carlin, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Don Rickles and Katy Perry.

I’ve swapped stories with Mike Ness, got butt dialed once by Paul Stanley, yelled at by Andy Dick, goosed by David Coverdale of Whitesnake, Marilyn Manson talked dirty to me in an attempt to rattle my cage during an interview and I’ve been thoroughly creeped out by America’s favorite dad Bob Saget.

Is that enough name dropping? Now on to what I really do. I write stuff, lots of stuff.

On a personal level: I like unicorns, Long Island ice teas, Johnny Cash, Mr. Potato Head, owls, mac n’ cheese,  Tim Burton, horror movies, pickles, whiskey, Jamie Lee Curtis, hand sanitizer, working out, Mario Kart, Jimi Hendrix, zombies, Edgar Allan Poe, roller coasters, sock monkeys and haunted houses.
