Music News: No Doubt, Green Day top all-star lineup for next iHeartRadio Music Festival

July 9th, 2012, 4:09 pm · · posted by

We already knew the dates of the next iHeartRadio Music Festival, Sept. 21-22 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. But there obviously wasn’t much reason to get excited until the lineup was revealed.

Now it’s out, and it’s strong enough to start looking into hotel rates for that weekend.

No Doubt will perform during the first night, just days before the O.C.-spawned group finally releases its first album in more than a decade, Push and Shove, on Sept. 25. (The disc’s lead single, “Settle Down,” arrives July 16.)

Green Day, which will launch its ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! trilogy with the first of those titles the same day Gwen Stefani & Co. return to stores, also will appear during the first half of the iHeart Radio Fest.

More names for that all-A-list bash include mega-stars from country (Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert), rap (Lil Wayne), R&B (Rihanna, Usher), Latin pop (Shakira) and electronic dance music (the spectacle that is Swedish House Mafia).

Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Linkin Park, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift and Mary J. Blige have been tapped for the Saturday portion of the event, along with Pink (whose sixth studio album, The Truth About Love, is due Sept. 18), Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull and two more giants of the EDM scene, Calvin Harris and Deadmau5.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 14, at 10 a.m., with prices starting at $71.25 and rising to a whopping $633. Act fast — last year’s festival sold out in minutes.
