Let’s say you wake up one day craving a big juicy burger for lunch.
Later in the day, you decide that you want to watch an Angels game on TV in a sports bar. And you’re now in the mood for tacos.
After the game, you want to let loose and go clubbing.
You could drive all over Orange County; or you could park your car outside the Cantina Lounge in Fullerton and never leave.
The four-year-old restaurant, on the former site of the venerable college hangout Off Campus Pub, is all things to all people – particularly to people who like burgers, tacos, sports bars and nightclubs.

And the best night to satisfy all those needs is Tuesday. In Orange County, Tuesday is taco day.
At the Cantina Lounge, tacos are $1 each until 10 p.m., but the whole menu is also available, and that includes the mighty Cantina Burger, a half-pounder with pepper jack cheese, a giant beer-battered onion ring, thick Applewood bacon and a fire-roasted green chile on it. I love that a Mexican restaurant is not afraid to flaunt its burger when a well-known burger chair is RIGHT NEXT DOOR.
Although Tuesday is a great day for tacos, the restaurant offers happy hour discounts seven days a week, although on Sunday, there are no food bargains.
The place is festooned with flat screens, and I found a seat at the bar, and was able to watch the Angels, the Heat-Celtics game, the Women’s College Softball World Series and an IFC battle without turning my head. Look at me; I’m multi-tasking.
On Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, if you wait around long enough, you’ll watch the restaurant/sports bar magically turn into a full-blown nightclub. The theme on Thursdays is the 1980s and 1990s.
