The first of three rounds of the Miss Hootenanny 2012 competition kicked off at Johnny’s Saloon in Huntington Beach on Wednesday night. Hosted by Sullen Clothing and the Sullen Angels, the top five contestants will go on to the final round which will be held at the annual Hootenanny on July 7 at Oak Canyon Ranch in Irvine.

The next two rounds of competition will be held at the venue on June 20 and 27. If you want to compete, there’s still time and you can enter here.

Round one of the Miss Hootenanny preliminaries also served as a benefit to raise money for Vietnam veteran Royce Johnson, who passed away last week. The proceeds were donated to his family to help pay for funeral costs.
