Hurley teamed up C.R. Stecyk III, who’s life was portrayed in the skate documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys, as well as the feature Lords of Dogtown, to create his short film titled FIN, which debuted at Hurley’s H Space Gallery in Costa Mesa on Wednesday. Dozens of fans turned out to join Stecyk in the intimate screening and enjoyed music, brews and popcorn.

The film pays homage to the D.I.Y. culture of the past and present, or as Stecyk refers to it, the “artisan garage culture.” Some of the characters portrayed in the film include Von Dutch, Evel Knievel, Dave Sweet, Tom Blake, and Dale Velzy to name a few.
