‘The Aquabats! Super Show’ debuts March 3

A press kit showed up at the office today that contained a retro-style lunch box complete with Aquabats costume including an obnoxiously blue-colored T-shirt and signature eye mask. Hey, when you fight evil, you need a disguise.
The swag is promoting the O.C.-based band’s new, “The Aquabats! Super Show,” which debuts on the Hub on Saturday, March 3. The band is also nominated for two OC Music Awards this year including best album (“Hi-Five Soup!”) and best pop. The awards will be given out the same day the show debuts at a ceremony at City National Grove of Anaheim.
I couldn’t resist immediately putting on the costume seconds after my colleague Peter Larsen opened up the box. I even drew a little mustache on my face to accurately portray the look. All I’m missing is the silver-colored swim cap and I’d officially be an Aquabat. Enjoy!
