Coldplay tapped for Club Nokia benefit

Didn’t score tickets for Coldplay‘s Hollywood Bowl shows in May? Well, here comes another (and sooner) chance to see the Brits live … though you can bet this one will sell out even faster than those three Bowl gigs did.

Chris Martin & Co. will headline an iHeartRadio charity concert on Feb. 8 at Club Nokia, with proceeds benefiting L.A.-based youth organizations A Place Called Home and Youth Mentoring Connection. Naturally, given the cause and the intimacy of the venue, entrance won’t come cheap: $100-$500, with a two-ticket limit per household.

The on-sale begins Thursday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. exclusively for club members of KIIS-FM, 98.7 FM and MyFM/104.3. (Click any of the links to join up, in some instances using the keyword Coldplay.) Remaining tickets become available to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.

Also coming to Club Nokia: comedian J.B. Smoove, $20-$30, on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Speaking of English rock bands, the Kooks — who thrilled faithful fans with two shows last month at the Music Box behind their third album, Junk of the Heart — will return March 1 to headline the Fox Theater in Pomona, $25 in advance, $28 day of show, on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Meanwhile, new at L.A.’s El Rey Theatre are shows from White Rabbits, March 28, $18, on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. … and English neo-traditionalists Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, April 6, $17, on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
