The battle for best live acoustic in the 2012 OC Music Awards began last night with performances by Nicole Vaughn, Erick Macek, Allensworth, Moonsville Collective and Headshine at the District at Tustin Legacy.

The showcases are happening every Tuesday night in different local venues through Feb. 14, with the two final showcases happening Feb. 24 and 25 at yet-to-be announced locations. For a complete listing of showcases, go to ocmusicawards.com.

Catch the next showcase at the Slidebar Rock-N-Roll Kitchen (122 E. Commonwealth Ave., Fullerton) where We Are She Is, Midnight Hour, Ceasefire, We Are the Arsenal and PWEST will compete for best live band at 8 p.m. Jan. 17.
